Career Services at Central European University

CareerNext (known also as career>next) is an integrated platform for CEU students, graduates, CEU career advisers and international employers, making possible the sharing of information, jobs, internships, fellowships, resources and candidate profiles. This website complements the vast range of services and tools developed by career team, in order to accommodate the needs of CEU job seekers and international graduate recruiters.

The careers team strives to empower students and fresh graduates with the skills necessary to succeed in their professional lives while fully utilizing the power of the CEU alumni network. The unit serves as liaison with numerous local and international employers. Our mission is to engage our clients in a mutually beneficial, lifelong connection with each other and the university.

Services for Students

• Individual and group guidance - CV / resume and cover letter review, skills assessment, interview behavior, job search strategies, networking, and customized services for doctoral students.
• Exclusive access to career>next - a powerful integrated platform for student and alumni job seekers, to post their latest resume, access crucial career-building materials and scan the region’s best job and internship vacancies.
• Contact with employers - Recruitment materials, on- and off-campus events: Career Days; corporate presentations; interview sessions; Open Days
• Alumni Connections network - Providing contacts with alumni from specific countries and professional areas, organizing networking events for sharing experience and know-how.

• Networking (alumni chapters and clubs, alumni directory, online groups, support for reunion and other events, alumni association, leadership and volunteer opportunities)
• On-campus services (discounted accommodation at CEU Residence Center, CEU computer login, CEU Library privileges, foreign language courses, discount at the CEU bookshop, sports and recreation opportunities)

Services for Graduate Employers

• Exclusive access to career>next - a one-stop shop for all employment and staffing needs, integrating the former Online Vacancies Board and the annual Resume Book. Employers can post job and internship opportunities and scan the resumes of hundreds of talented potential hires from CEU’s student and alumni community.
• Organizations presentations and Corporate Showcase series – good chance for marketing on campus among students, where employers share information about company’s history, culture, products and activities, career opportunities and expectations. Venues and professional presentation equipment are provided free of charge for this purpose.
• In-class cooperation opportunities – Organized mainly at CEU Business School, special guest lectures, action learning project partnership or roundtable panelist opportunities can be arranged. While students are working on projects and gaining hands-on experience, organizations can select and recruit talents with promising results.
• Annual Career Fair – CEU students and alumni interested in positions from entry level to management are invited to meet employers from the region. Flexible participation packages, discount for partners, sponsorship opportunities are available.

Other tailored services can be discussed with the careers team: focus groups, contests, online competitions, distribution of flyers, posters, hard copy materials on campus, on-site visits, and pre-selection of candidates for a specific position, corporate partnerships.
