The Human Dignity Trust has a rolling internship programme. The Trust maintains a list of potential interns - this list is contacted whenever we have an internship vacancy. If you would like to apply to join this list please contact us at administrator@humandignitytrust.org. There is no time limit or deadline to join the list - you can join at any time.
To join the list of potential interns, the successful applicant(s) must have a degree in law (or the equivalent). HDT interns are expected to provide comprehensive and quality legal research. This will include research into international human rights law, as well as relevant domestic law, practice and procedure. Evidence of research skills will therefore be a distinct advantage. The successful applicant(s) will need to have a good grounding in international, as well as constitutional law principles. HDT interns are also expected to carry out administrative duties for the Trust. Additionally interns assist the HDT generally.
To apply to join the list of potential interns, please send an up-to-date CV (no more than two A4 pages) with a one-page covering letter explaining why you should be appointed. In that letter please indicate whether you have the right to live and work in the UK. The application should be sent to the Trust's administrator, Chris Atkinson: administrator@humandignitytrust.org. Applicants will be notified if they have been successful in joining the list and will be contacted again when the Trust is recruiting for an internship.
The Human Dignity Trust takes on 1 or 2 interns usually for a three-month period, but we will consider extending this period and we may offer shorter internships. Interns are paid at a fixed monthly rate. The Trust is based in central London.
